Reading Treats!

P1040723

On Friday, March 4 our school was treated to a visit by author, Tim Green.  He talked with students in grades 2 – 8 and shared much of his philosophy on how to survive in life.  I couldn’t stop recording quotes!  It was great for our class to hear about his daughter, Tate, as we are currently immersed in one of his earlier books, Football Genius, where one of the main characters is named after his daughter.  So fun.  One student from our room was also selected to greet Mr. Green and show him around our school.  What a fabulous way to start the day!

This week our reading treats have continued as students have shared their most important, and likely their favorite, passages from their self-selected February – March independent reading books. These shares have been recorded and will be put into students’ EdCube folders.  I will check with Mrs. Wyman about getting the shares onto this blog as well. :)!

In addition, students are now working with the iPads to create book trailers.  Stay tuned for more updates as we continue to find ways to connect with our reading books!
